The Bethune-Cookman football team is on a roll!
The Wildcats advanced to 4-1 in the 2019 campaign after winning their last three contests, bestingMississippi Valley State, Howard and most recentlyMorgan State.
They will face a 2-4 North Carolina Central team onThursday, October 10 in Durham, North Carolina. The game will be shown live on ESPNU at 6: p.m.
The combination of senior quarterback Akevious Williams and sophomore running back Isaac Washington has been nearly unstoppable. In the last three weeks, Williams has proved to be a dual threat, passing for 431 yards and 3 touchdowns while alsorushing for 411 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Washington has rushed for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Senior wide receiver Jimmie Robinson appears to beWilliams' favorite target, accumulating 220 yards on 12 receptions and scoring 3 touchdowns.
The Wildcat defense team also needs to be recognized. It has been hard for opposing teams to move the chains down the field against them. They caught 3 interceptions and forced 3 fumbles, which I believe created key possessions for the offense.Because of their efforts, the Wildcats put up 90 points and allowed only 55 points against them in their last 3 matchups.
This week against the North Carolina CentralEagles should be an easy win for the Wildcats.
The trio of Williams, Washington and Robinson, as well as sophomore running back Que'shaun Byrd, will be too powerful for North Carolina Central.
I predict that B-CU will come home with a 35-20 victory.
