It is time to Man up

Bethune-Cookman's Male Development Institute recently kicked off the fall version of a discussion group for just us guys called "Man Up Monday." And, as a man, it was only natural that I could check it out to see what was up. First, I learned that the group will meet every Monday throughout the fall semester in the graduate seminar room located in the CCE at 7:15 p.m. Fellow student Lawrence McCombs was among those that
attended the first event. McCombs said he thought Man up Mondays was a good thing for freshman and sophomores who are just getting acclimated to the school. He also that it's a perfect place for males to network with each other and find out more information about various campus organizations. Sitting throughout the program, I realized that this a great organization to join. It was interesting watching how some of the students were coming out of their shells and getting to know others around them. Uplifting and giving knowledge to each other. I truly feel this could be a great experience for men around campus to get more involved and aware of what's happening in the community around them. Instead of sitting on the sidelines, it will give them more ways to be a part of something that hopefully will lead them in the right direction down the line. Now, all we need are more men, regardless of their classification, to join. Till next time.
