"My B-CU legacy is that I helped as much as I could through the years. I have a philosophy that I'm going to do for Bethune-Cookman because I see its value ... Everybody can't give money, but you can give time, energy, service and effort," said Harold V. Lucas, Jr. "How could I not be thankful for all the opportunities that Bethune Cookman-University has provided me? Many hands make light work and we all should be dedicated to our alma mater. If there's something we can do, we ought to do it. There's nothing like Bethune-Cookman University. I will always be devoted," he added.
Lucas is this year's 2019 Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal on Saturday, October 26, 2019. The parade begins at 9:00 a.m. located on Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard in Daytona Beach. Harold V. Lucas, Jr. has a 75-year history with Bethune-Cookman University, beginning as a child. His father, Harold V. Lucas, Sr. worked closely with institution founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune.
